I left Tampa Thursday afternoon (4pm) to drive to Kingsland GA (halfway point to my parents). It is usually a 4 hour drive. A few mile south of Ocala (90 miles north of Tampa...less than 1/2 to Kingsland) traffic came to a halt. 2 1/2 hours later and 5 miles further down the road, I was able to exit the interstate and head over to 301 to continue my trek. Ugh. I talked to Hubby while sitting in traffic, and he looked on the internet and found out that a man had died in a traffic accident just a mile north of where I got off the interstate. Apparently, he was in a SUV and side-swiped a semi-truck, propelling him into the medium where his SUV flipped and he was ejected. Guess sitting for 2 1/2 hours really isn't so bad in the scheme of things. I had no one waiting for me, and could sleep in on Friday. AND I had a book on tape. Definitely a life-saver on trips.
I'm sitting at my dad's new computer, the one he got after the fire in their house, waiting for my little brother and his family to arrive for an overnight stay. My nephews are the absolutely cutest and most enjoyable 2- and 5-year olds around. I installed some software on my dad's computer for him and am working on getting the sound to work properly.
It's great to be here. The fun has begun, my nephews are here!
